Brit Floors approached us during the Covid pandemic with a new idea. They wanted to take their business online, to take advantage of the HUGE increase in online buying habits and we were the Web Design Agency for the job! One of the key pieces of functionality that they requested was a room size calculator that then used a specific calculation to tell the user how many packs a user needs of a specific flooring to full that whole room. So that’s what we created!

Easy-to-use experience to find the right flooring for your room.
The first thing we needed to do was build an amazing eCommerce website design for Brit Floors to create a trustworthy and easy-to-use experience for new users. We created a new colour scheme to create hierarchy within the various elements, and a simple but effective layout for all of the various links across the site.
A simple design with beautiful imagery.
The design needed to be straightforward to make it easy for all users to find the products that they need. We used high-end imagery from both suppliers and stock websites to create a high-end luxury feel, whilst still being extremely approachable and friendly.
Room size calculator to work out how many packs of flooring the user needs to buy.
We discussed with the client where their current pain-points were. An issue that they were facing was that people were trying to work out how many packs of flooring they needed to completely fill their room. We had to create a bespoke calculator that took various data from the products to output the number of packs the user would need on a specific flooring. This of course needed to be rounded up based on their room size, as Brit Floors only sell by pack, not exact sizing. The user can then choose whether to get a couple of extra packs if they would like to or choose the exact amount. This is then added to the basket and they can continue shopping or head to checkout.
